For folks building a ULF-1 here in the U.S., we found both these companies will cut Sitka spruce to metric dimensions, but Aircraft Spruce always has come in cheaper on their quotes.

I am still looking forward to learning the art of building a superlight wooden aircraft, especially one with excellent lift and maneuverability. I am not looking to put an engine on my glider, but rather make it light. The lighter it is the closer we can be to the birds. One modification that comes to mind would be a change in airfoil shape that could increase its speed window a touch, though I think I need to experience the feel of takeoff speeds before I go and adjust it.
