[ULF-1] Intro and looking for info from others with active ULF-1 projects

Quick Intro: My name is Member 132 Gay, I just joined the list after watching youtube videos of the ULF-1. I’ve looked at others like the Woodstock and Carbon Dragon but I would like to remain ultralight category and use conventional Member 60 and steel materials I am familiar with. I emailed Dieter about buying a set of plans last week but did not hear back yet. I’m an AP/IA mechanic with long plastic, free flight rubber, RC scratch building experience. I’m flying a Bowers Flybaby N608X. I have an aircraft restoration shop and small Member 132 76N Member 132 in Tunkhannock PA with 3100ft grass to possibly winch tow out of. I have Teenage kids who are also Free flight and scratch build RC capable and would like a project. They are both student pilots but they have CAD drawing, welding and machining experience and are very good with woodwork. Clever boys that work fast. Locally we have a shop that can water jet and laser cut parts. I also have contacts for CNC Member 60 machining of spars and other parts. On the Member 132 we have a business building custom Wolff Pitts wings and laminated leading edges. I’ve built many ribs and Member 60 parts over the years for restorations. The shop is TIG welding capable for aluminum and steel. Brakes, shears, lathe etc. Without seeing the plans I’m not sure how many processes can be used to help but I think we have a good chance of completing an airframe with out too much difficulty. Are their any builders in NY/PA/NJ area?

In construction what parts are the most trouble for everyone to build. Is all hardware standard materials? I’ve been looking at the wing attach fittings but did not see any closeup photos online. Is there interest in any parts being welded, machined or cut to help with construction of the difficult portions.
