Greg,
You are right.  Epoxy is not glue.  It bonds through molecular 
cohesion.  The FPL Member 60 Handbook talks about exoxies, glues and other
adhesives at length in chapter 10 of the handbook.  I suggest that you 
download the book and skim the whole thing.  It is full of good
info from the horses mouth of Member 60.
I'm not trying to be a know-all or a wise-acre, just pointing to a 
source of info.
