Hello! How do you organize the test flights with your ULF-1´s? What backgrounds do you have for flying your ULF´s? It would be nice to learn how ulf-fliers around the world set up their test flights before higher altitude flights and how training is organized. I would especially appreciate info from pilots who do not have a full glider pilot lisence background, and especially about foot launch training. To maximize security I plan to do glider plane training up to solid solo level and then follow the hangglider training syllabus with emphasis on foot launch and hill/mountain operations. This will give me feedback from both qualified sailplane instructors and hangglider instructors.
Today I started a cooperation project with the Norwegian CAA, the Norwegian Air Sports Federation, NLF, about training programme, type conversion, training syllabus, theory syllabus, technical inspection during construction, technical maintenance, etc. We have decided to do an extra careful planning so that other future builders and pilots will be able to build and fly within a good safety framework. Also since I most likely(fingers crossed)will be the first ULF-1 builder and pilot in my country, ever.
Thanks in advance and happy holidays to you all,
Svenning
