[ULF-1] Adding an engine or electric motor to a Ulf-1

Hi,

I am just new to the list.  I am an experienced motorglider pilot and am considering building a Ulf-1 to explore microlift and to be able to soar on marginal lift days.

Before I commit to building, I need to know if any Ulf-1's have been successfully powered to self-launch to soaring altitude.  Has anyone successfully made a motorglider out of a Ulf-1?  If so, how was it done?  I would really like to go the electric motor route if possible, but would consider a gas engine too.
