Diego,
I can certainly see the similarities you refer to. My initial impression came from the photo's displayed at Dieter's website, particularly the yellow painted example. The relatively short strutless wing and the tail profile are what struck the chord (no pun intended) with me.

Hello Selim,
I am not building yet but I am a huge fan of the ULF-1 and I applaud your decision to build one. I am very much looking forward to your documentation of the project. I built a Mk2 Kolb and enjoy flying it as often as I can. But, my heart is in soaring. I earned my private licence in a 2-33 Sweizer quite a few years ago. Then the ultralight movement attracted me. When I first saw the ULF-1, I thought wow, a mini 1-26!!! It's cool.....good choice......go for it!!

Hii. everybody..
I was 18 years old when I saw an ULF 1 picture an old magazine..I
was hooked .. 14 years passed from that time,
Now I'm 32 and living Turkey ?stanbul.. I'm airline pilot on Airbus 300 b4
. Im looking my past to understand whats change in my feelings.
I found that nothing change.:)). still trying to find to construct something
for flying. I think M.Sandlin's GOAT is one of the simple homebuild
sailplane yet.But in my country,very hard to find aluminum 6061
T6. . Because of that reason ,I decide focus again the ULF 1 . I will
order ULF plan
soon and study on it... ULF 1 is perfect sample to encourage to build a
very light wooden sailplane in spite of complex construction . My plan,
start
to construction in a couple months and finish it in one year ...Ofcourse
I'll build a web page at the same time .and you can follow the construction
there .
I want to learn ,I could't find any video about ULF 1 if you have can
you share our groups.. Thank's ....
